Excision (2012)

Pauline (AnnaLynne McCord) is a very disturbed social misfit who dreams of becoming a surgeon. She's also very precise about everything in her life, from how she is going to her virginity to her thoughts on religion.

The biggest obstacle she has to tackle is her unreasonably demanding mother Phyllis (Traci Lords) who dotes on her very sick sister Grace (Ariel Winter).

Excision is both a gruesome bloodbath and a joy to watch, which is a rare combination indeed. The dialog is both clever and intelligent, some of the more graphic scenes are visually beautiful, and the characters are very well-defined.

The story is pleasant but not exactly deep... this film has more of a day-to-day diary-type action rather than a clearly defined plot story.

Overall, a nice little twisted tale when you are in the mood for something out-of-the-ordinary.
