Brutal Massacre: A Comedy (2007)
Brutal Massacre is a horror film for film-makers. Seriously. While folks who aren't in the movie-making business would probably enjoy it, I think it really speaks to those who've done time on a set.
The story involves a has-been horror auteur who is struggling to make a movie that will put him back on the map. One thing after another happens, pretty much everything that a film producer dreads (or even more likely, has experienced) as the cast and crew try to get through the production with their sanity intact.
The film reportedly had a very low budget of just $400,000, but was filmed to make it look like it was shot on a lot less. This actually adds to the overall feel of the film in a very positive way.
Some of the characters are played a little too over-the-top, but that's to be expected for a comedy that's pretty much poking fun of the low-budget, independent film industry.
